The cache that Brian and Scott mentioned - for those who arent aware - is=
: "West of the Pecos" (GC37F8). The cache started out as a hoax being p=
layed on "Wyle E." Larry had made six trips to the site looking for a no=
nexistent cache. If you read the logs from Feb 6th through the 12th, 200=
2, you will see how this played out. The cache was finally made legit, a=
nd "The Real Thing" was added to the cache name.

Yeah, the Wyle E one was great. I remember hearing the story about it at
one of Regan's event caches, and was just rolling in the aisles.

I recall another hoax that was perpetrated some time ago in which a non-e=
xistent cache was posted near the home of the venerable Wyle E. Those wh=
o were 'in' on the joke posted 'finds' for the cache even though there wa=
s no cache to be found. Some people logged DNF's, just to add to the ill=
usion of legitamacy. The same thing could apply here.

Considering that the cache hunt was on April Fool's Day, I was thinking t=
hat it may be just a big joke on us. but if so, why would they bother lo=
gging one of mine as a DNF.
