Well for one of those people who use work email, I am on my PC all day long, checking emails about 6 times an hour due
to my job, and yes have people tried to contact me, but to tell the truth I only check my home email about once to twice
a week, but I have it with my home internet service, which is very slow. I figure I am more responsive from my work
email than I am from home, now over the week of July fourth I will be on Vacation so what I will do is switch to my home
email for that week.

As for the two individuals that you are referring to one has been on a business trip out of state and the only access is
through his work email, and the other also has access from his home to his work email.

That is why I use my work email address

I am wondering why certain people use their WORK email address,
rather than a HOME email address, at the geocaching.com site.
I do know several hiking friends who have no PC at home, so
I either email them during the week, or call them on the
old-fashioned telly on the weekend. But its hard to imagine
a GEOCACHER with no PC at home.

Let me state a purely hypothetical situation where this
could be a problem.

Let's say that 2 teams decide to place a cache, where you
have to locate 2 products to get the coordinates. One of
the 2 products is a very hard to locate item, with a brand
name that most stores have never even heard of, and which
doesn't appear in search engines on the web. One or more
geocachers decide to email the placers of the cache,
requesting info on where to find the item.

Problem is, in this purely hypothetical situation, the placers
of the cache left their WORK email address with geocaching.com.
And the cache appeared on the listings late in the day on a
Friday. So, people who would like to hunt the cache down,
and need to find the oddball product, who email the cache
owners, don't get a reply for maybe 60 hours, since their
email was sent to a work email address.

Again, this is a purely hypothetical situation.

Is there any good reason to use a WORK email address instead
of a HOME email address? The home email address can be kept
private from everyone- just don't check the box that says
"send them my email address". Does anyone who geocaches
actually not have a PC or laptop at home?
