Jeez he could've definatly gotten ahold of one of the 4 wheeling groups and saved some $$. The AZ Virtual Jeep Club would've helped out in a pinch and they're damn fast at mobilizing. I've heard of the Rough Riders before as well and they're a great group.

I was just on the phone with mtime. He's got a towing company ( from north Phoenix! ) in progress extracting his vehicle : 2 offroad vehicles and
one flat bed doing the extraction … sounds expensive!

He should be able to get some people from the local 4 wheel drive clubs to get it out and avoid any expensive charges that most likely will occur if a tow company is involved. You would need special equipment to do that kind of retrieval and the 4X4 clubs are experienced in that kind of thing as it happens all the time. Depending on how much fluid has leaked out of the vehicle environmental cleanup has to be done also.

I am sure the Tucson Rough Riders would be willing to help.

From what I understand the insurance/tow company will be heading that up

Wow! Glad to hear he's okay too. Sounds like a '4x4 retrieval event' needs to be planned...
