I have a desktop cradle for my Magellan SportTrac Pro. No screwing necessary, just pop it into the cradle and your connected to the PC! This is my third Magellan unit and my preference in Brand name.

One other thing I don't like about the Magellan is how you have to screw the power point or download line in the back of the unit instead of plug and play. Garmin has gone to USB cable for faster downloads but maybe by now Magellan has done the same.
