When my wife and I went to Moorea for our honeymoon, the seat-backs were
equipped with little TV monitors. On most of the channels they played
movies, but on one channel there was a GPS feed. It was pretty cool,
although it didn't give much detail since we were over water the whole
time.

If you bring your GPS on the plane, you might not want to turn it on
until the plane reaches 10K feet. They don't like people using any
electronics during the takeoff or landing. And if you ask the flight
attendants, they will most likely say that you can't use it during any
part of the flight (whether they understand the technology or not, it's
always easiest for them to just say 'no').

This topic comes up occasionally but I haven't seen it for awhile and
for the first time I can use the advice.

I'm flying to Iowa in about a week and wonder if I can use my GPS on the
airline. Anyone done this lately?
