Thank you. I was hoping someone with expertise would reply. People who put their lives on the
line to try to keep us safe deserve our respect. Not all of them are angels, and sometimes the
best of us has a bad day, but I found the tone of the original post offensive. I agree with
Brian. It suggests a very negative attitude toward law enforcement in general, not just this
situation in particular.

Perhaps my own attitude is colored because I live in very rural SE Arizona, where law
enforcement is overextended and the sight of them is welcome. Maybe the fact that almost every
police officer in the area is a former student is also a factor. Since I teach at a community
college, perhaps the contention in the original post that an associate's degree is "cheesy" is
what offended me. I would put our graduates up against any. Our nursing grads are top notch
and in great demand. They actually graduate with more hours of clinical experience than most 4
year grads. Our aviation programs are nationally respected. The same is true right along the
line. I am not familiar with the community colleges in Phoenix, but Cochise and Pima colleges
both have more students than the Uof A or ASU. That's no accident. Maybe Mr. Noll should
climb down off his elitest high horse.
