Wow, you are right. Talk about biting the hand that feeds them. That state organization is the binding entity that got us (well mostly you Steve, and others here) to work to put geocaching in a positive light locally. It is azgeocaching.com that has done so much to promote geocaching here. If it wasnt for azgeocaching.com, I am not sure if I would be into geocaching as much as Mike and I are. It wasnt gc.com but Brian through the community on azgc.com that got the CITOs on the local highway cleanup. It wasnt gc.com, but Steve through the community on azgc.com that worked with local agencies on their geocaching policies. It was the community through azgc.com that made caching good here, not gc.com.

Artemis, I know you read this listserv. Do you see the importance of the community in azgeocaching? Can you talk to Jeremy about allowing local organizations like azgeocaching to have a link on the state page? Otherwise it may be difficult to get the new people into community awareness and good caching PR.

As for me, I will be placing links to azgeocaching.com in all my pages and in my sigline. I will be welcoming newbies who post on my cache pages, and give them the azgeocaching link.

It's not on the "My Account" page, but one recent difference I've noticed is
that the "Search by State" pages used to have links to the various
organizations, websites, etc., for that state (e.g., the Arizona page would
have a link to azgeocaching.com). All those links now appear to be gone.
Guess gc.com can't bear any form of "competition".
