[Az-Geocaching] Re: Power Trail not approved!

I would suggest that in the future, you mull over the concept with the admin
approver in advance of all the legwork planning. I put out the first night
cache in this region a few weeks ago, and kept in touch with my local
approver to address potential questions long before I put the firetacks out.
It made for a very quick approval, but at the same time, this wasn't a
'power trail' concept either. With some caches out there requiring a huge
amount of time/planning, I just see it as a good way to make sure this
doesn't happen to anyone else.

All I have to say is "What a shame" I have been planning this trail
for almost 2 months,I didn't expect to have a problem getting it
approved! It would have been alot of fun to do!
Originally I wanted to space the caches 600 feet apart and they would
go fo 3 miles!I even bought the decon containers to do so. I had no
plan on making any of it difficult! My thinking is when you have a
cache 600 feet away you are very inclined to keep walking to the next
one! I wanted all the hides to be in quality waterproof almost
maintenance free containers!
Towards the end of the discussions I cut it back to 20 caches over 7
miles thats a spacing of actually .33 .Coadmin suggested 4 multicaches
each a 3 part segment spread out the length of the trail so that would
be 12 segments but only four finds! No one I've ever talked to about
geocaching said they liked finding caches and getting no credit for
it! Thats why I don't place multi's!IBetween my wife and I we have
placed about 80 caches and not one of them was a multi! I'll do them
but only if thats all that is left in an area! The reason I posted
this here to begin with is that I was appalled that even if I got
permission from the park to place it they would not approve it! I
guess this doesn't bother most of you!I tried to do something the
geocaching community would have a blast doing and now it will never
happen!
