I have had the iQUE (Windows Version) since it first came out and it is
AWESOME! It is a great PDA and even a better GPS. It plugs into the
standard car lighter and the external speaker is even loud enough for us old
geezers. You will most likely need additional memory to hold the maps if
you travel a lot and do not want to move maps in and out of the iQUE. I got
a 1GB card and is more then adequate. A friend just got one and ordered the
1GB card and has stored every major city on the card.

The iQUE Windows version is a bit more then others but is top quality and a
great Windows PDA.

I have been wanting to get a GPS for the car. This
will not be used in the field, but rather strictly in
the car. I want something with the following
features:

1. Larger color display with fine detail
2. Full autorouting with voice commands for turns
3. Basemap (preferably loadable with America or
Europe)
4. Detailed street maps fully unlocked
5. Points of Interest for food and drink, lodging,
   attractions, entertainment, etc.
6. Expandable memory for maps, etc.

I have been looking at the various Garmin Streetpilots
(2610, 2620, 2650, and 2720) and the various Garmin
iQue PDA/GPS units (M3, M5, 3200 & 3600). Does anyone
have any experience with these particular units?

Also, with the iQue units, there are 2 which are Palm
OS 5.2 based (3200 and 3600) and 2 which are Microsoft
Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition based (M3 and M5).
Does anyone have any recommendations on these OSs for
PDAs?

The iQue units are a lot less expensive than the
Streetpilots, and also have the PDA capability. Are
they lacking in GPS functionality compared to the
Streetpilots?

Any helpfull information will be greatly appreciated.
Bob Renner

WOW! For the price of that Garmin 2720, you could get a nice laptop, and
connect you handheld GPS to that for in-car use!

I use a Dell Inspirion 700m with a USB GPSr along with MS Streets and Trips
2005. It even updates road construction areas! Works great for me.

Hello,

I have the 2610, got it for $529 off Amazon.com after rebate and just bought

one two weeks ago for a friend off there for $577 without rebates. I'm very

happy with it and I have a 512 MB card with mine so I have all of New
England down to DC and AZ to San Diego loaded with more room left. Just
used it to get to a meet in Lebanon, NH. Very pleased with it. It has all
the features you're looking for.

That's why I was looking more seriously at the iQues.
They are a lot cheaper. The laptop was not an option
due to the size. I want something that will fit on
the dash and can be secured.

ShadowAce can give a better assessment of that line. I think they do pretty
good on the road...what say you ShadowAce?

Here is a picture of my onboard laptop/gps setup inside my 1999 S-10 Blazer.

I use the laptop to get me in the area of a cache, then grab the handheld
SporTrak Pro to walk to the cache.

The laptop has been great on the last couple of trips we've taken out of
town. We spent a week in the San Francisco area looking for an apartment
for our daughter. Just type in the address and it gives the best route to
get to that address from your current position. We also just got back from
Maine and I used it in the rental car to find our way from the Airport in
Manchester, NH to Farmingdale, ME. Also lists all POI's, Hotels/Motels,
ATM's, Restaurants, Airports, etc. etc. etc...

I find it hard to go anywhere without it now!!! LOL
