Was going to take the gerbils to sell to some guys I know that really =
seem to go through their gerbils fast, but they weren't interested. They =
just fondled the travel bug and gave your email address to some friends =
of theirs who grow weed in that park, they want to talk to you about the =
trail of geocachers disturbing the "vegetation" on the way to the cache.

April Fools!

Good one.

Good thing about being a pilots son is I can fly just about anywhere for =
almost free. The TSA wasn't too happy about the grenades and case of box =
cutters that I tried to bring with me to leave in the cache, so I had to =
leave them behind in Tennessee[:(!]. Instead I left a few cents pocket =
change and a used stick of gum, and took one of the Glocks. This was =
after I pulled aside some kids that were walking down the tracks and had =
them help me locate the cache. The container was already damp and the =
logbook was wet, so I just left it out in the open to dry.=20

bomb squad there. When they saw the "vegetation", they thought it was =
mine. I tried to convince them that I was just geocaching. They =
arrested me anyway. I am typing this log with a pencil held in my =

I was headed south of Deland today to pick up an airplane from my cousin =
to take to my brother for the opening of his new restaurant north of =
Tampa. After landing at PIE, I just couldn't resist. I rented a car =
and headed out to find the cache. It took a little longer then I =
thought but only because there were a few distractions along the way. =
Apparently I ran over a gerbil...ugh!  Then I picked up a hitch-hiker =
(which my mother has always told me NOT to do) but she was really HOT! =
After dropping her off at Bubba's Shrimp Shack I was able to find the =
cache pretty easily. Duh! Did you take a good look around at that =
mess?!?! I felt so bad about the gerbil I ran over that I decided the =
cache would make a good burial ground for him. Sorry! I also left a =
pair of fingernail clippers with a nail file on it. Are those things =
out-lawed now?

Happy Caching!   Strohem

You know, it is our vacation and what better way to spend it than down =
here at this great cache!

We reached the destination without any problems, but you know how those =
park people are with their regulations. Sheesh. So we gave them some =
lame excuse about looking for our nephew's keys and they let us go and =
dig up the terrain with our shovels. After a couple of hours, we found =
the cache. I know our Garmin is correct, but your coordinates are like =
200 feet off. Or is that because of everyone else who just had to rehide =
it in a better place than they found it. Well we decided to rehide it in =
the patch of poison ivy we saw about 50 feet away, much better =
camoflage. Good luck to the next cachers who look for it.=20

Being pharmacists, we had to snag those multicolored pills to sell on =
the internet for some real cash, after all gas aint cheap any more. =
Thanks for such a great trade item.[:D] We left the trash we found in =
our rent-a-car, and a collection of match books from our motel room.=20

Thanks for a great cache. Too bad the area is so ugly and torn up by all =
the people dealing with the train wreck or whatever that mess is. You'd =
think park rangers would have more respect for their land.=20

The kids are out on spring break, so we took a little mini vacation to =
come see what all the fuss was about. I left the kids back at the =
hotel, as this one seems particularly non-kid-friendly.

It took some doing to find the cache in all that poison ivy, but we had =
on special protective clothing. We took the nail clippers with the file =
to put in our carry-on luggage and mess with TSA on the way back home. =
We left some Cholla cactus pieces that were clinging to our pack from =
our last geocache outing back home in Arizona.

Thanks for the interesting vacation find!

I pulled up near the cache vicinity only to find several yellow suited =
gentleman scanning the area with geiger counters!! I moved close to =
what appeared to be the "command" table and produced my NECT card =
(nuclear emergency cache team). I inquired as to the situation, as if =
it weren't abundately clear.....someone had traded a shielded sample of =
Uranium238 for several gerbils!!! It's a good thing they decided to =
take the gerbils, otherwise it wouldn't have been pretty inside of the =
ammo can after a few minutes dosage. At any rate, I donned rad gear and =
personal dosimetry in order to grab the uranium sample, sign the log, =
and left some shielding material for the next cacher. I am taking the =
Uranium back to Los Alomos National Laboratory in New Mexico where I can =
hopefully knock out some caches unless I receive above my yearly dose of =
gamma radiation. We'll see how my trek progresses.TFTF

Being from the desert of Arizona and not used to this swampland, I came =
a little underprepared. I should have brought some more pest spray. As I =
approached the NPS gate to the park, I realized that I had left my =
Golden Pass at home, so I had to spend an additional $50 bucks for a new =
one (It was about to expire anyways). The rangers in the gate station =
looked really funny at what I had in the back of my rental pickup. But, =
hey, this is swampland, right? You need a little protection. I =
proceeded to the railtracks, ready to cache in, and trash out. But, I =
realized that the one trash bag I brought just wouldn't be enough to =
pickup all the wreckage lying about. Time for some superfund cleanup =
funds to be put to work.=20
I am sure glad I brought the protection I did, because those gerbils =
were on a rampage. What that funny gas did to them, I will be having =
nightmares for some time to come. But, the worst was that guy walking =
about on the tracks, next to a crater, mumbling. I think he needs a =
doctor, and not just for his open wounds.
With gasmask on, and full body suit, I kinda fit in with the various =
"official looking" folks wandering about. They were saying things like =
"bomb squad", "gun control", "nuke eh all". I slipped by, and using my =
trusty Garmin, was able to zero in on the new coords in the poison ivy =
rather quickly. You know, however, that the second spot on the multi =
needs some redoing. The rain was washing the blood away, and I could =
hardly read the coords.
I took the rattlesnake skin (the fangs were torn off - poor thing), and =
left my signature item - a string of fireworks.=20
Thanks for the fun cache. Now, only some 2500 miles from home, can I =
just go straight nw from here?

I parachuted in from the international space station, thus bypassing all =
security, and avoiding the scrutiny of any nearby muggles. In a full =
environmental suit, I was on a mission to rescue the gerbils.

It didn't take long, no one was expecting my attack from above. Into the =
geobag they went, along with some sunflower seeds to keep them happy. In =
their place I left mobious strip and a klein jar. I signed the log.

Already looking the part, I whistled a happy tune and strolled out.

Great cache.

Michael activated 'Super Pursuit Mode' and we were zipping across the =

enormous crater as mentioned in the previous logs. KITT automatically =
activated 'Turbo Boost' and we jumped over the crater. I reached out and =
signed the log boot as we jumped over. Took us for a ride and left you =

This cache is a big joke. Don't do it, I'm going to report the cache =
owner to Geocaching.com and ask that they be banned from the web site. =
What a rip!

I got up early this morning and sat down with my Wheaties at the PC to =
catch up on the nefga.com forums. What's this new message on the forum? =
CacheFlorida.com is back in service? Whoa, I can find this new cache and =
see the grand old site in all its glory? Where do I sign up?=20

Don't get me wrong - I'm not a cache addict, I can stop at any time. I =
can. Really, I can. I could stop tomorrow if I wanted to ... I just =
don't want to. I will admit, though: I miss CacheFlorida - especially =
the stats. Just when I was about to close in on Clan_Barron and 2LuknF8 =
(you know they've been faking logs - there's no way they can stay ahead =
of this caching machine without faking logs - it's not fair, there =
should be a law or something!) the site went away. Whoa, baby, major =
withdrawal! Now I have to sit up late at night figuring out how many =
points I have and whether I've moved up in the standings BY HAND.=20

So when I see this cache come active, you know I'm going. I figured =
maybe they had a laptop with a wireless connection or something rigged =
so cacher could check the CF site again - I mean, what a great idea for =
a cache! So I threw the kids in the trunk and we headed for Deltona at =
once - school? we don't need no stinkin' school today! We gotta get to =
CacheFlorida!=20

The area of the cache was easy to find - there was wreckage everywhere, =
yellow tape, huge craters in the ground, red lights everywhere. A SWAT =
team was holding a couple of huge gerbils at bay with anti-tank missles. =
No sweat, I've done harder caches than this. Slunk past the cops, around =
the crater, down in the ditch by the tracks - ah, is that the dull gleam =
of an ammo can? Eureka! I grab that puppy and pop it open - what? No =
CacheFlorida? Only a lousy TB and a blood-stained log. I wanted to throw =
it to the ground and smash it to bits - what a waste of time - but my =
cache training held and I stabbed my name onto the log and rehid the =
cache.=20

You wait, though, Mr CacheMonkeez. No more hiding Evil Micros for =
height-challenged cachers for you - your days of devious and deceitful =
cache hiding are over! Wait until THE JEREMY gets you - you will rue =
this hide!=20

OK, I hate to complain , and I really hate to have to add to the image =
of a "sue-happy America", but I have an issue here. I log the cache, I =
leave a booklet even though I thought I took nothing, and hop in my Jeep =
to head home.

Not more than 2 miles down the road, I get accosted by a glowing gerbil. =
This thing was FEROCIOUS ! Not only am I now covered with tiny claw =
marks, that insane thing tried touching my un-mentionables. Thank =
goodness the top was down on the Jeep. I siezed the grouuchy little =
vermin by the nape of his/her (?) neck, which is no easy feat mind you, =
and sailed him out the back. You think that stops him ? NO ! Like the =
liquid metal Terminator that Guv' Arnold had to beat down, this crazy =
thing starts chasing me up the road. Thank goodness for the mods on the =
engine, and the increased ground clearance provided by Superlift and =
some Firestone 32's.

Well, I stopped off for a drink to relax my nerves, once the evil spawn =
of rodent-dom gave up trying to jump into the tailpipe ( of the Jeep ) =
at 85 miles an hour. Low and behold, there was the infamous CarleenP at =
the bar. She too seems to be suffering some ill-effects from searching =
out this cache. Well, after some sound legal advice, *** I AM taking =
legal action against the railroad for not putting up warning signs about =
the local "wildlife" they have.

*** SIDENOTE: SOUND LEGAL ADVICE quoted verbatim -
mrph beer shetl in park brds acidic listenrghd meds jink found rotghy =

Thanks Carleen !

P.S. CarleenP also is in a very impressionable state currently. I =

mother. [}:)]

cache! Flew in from California this morning on my Concorde Jet (got a =
great deal on eBay) and followed the geotrail to the cache. Pretty easy =
to find now even with all the camo techniques being used. Very clever =

like that.  TFTC!

My GPS got me to the right spot (a long fast trip from Michigan) ... but =
there was no bridge there, and no apparent cache ... just a lot of messy =
debris and a yellow tape marked "Police Line-Do Not Cross", so I didn't. =
Lots of frantic official-types running around. Since I didn't locate the =

4/1/2004<BR><BR>Log Date: 4/1/2004<BR>Being from the desert of Arizona =
and not=20
used to this swampland, I came a little underprepared. I should have =
brought=20
some more pest spray. As I approached the NPS gate to the park, I =
realized that=20
I had left my Golden Pass at home, so I had to spend an additional $50 =
bucks for=20
a new one (It was about to expire anyways). The rangers in the gate =
station=20
looked really funny at what I had in the back of my rental pickup. But, =
hey,=20
this is swampland, right? You need a little protection.&nbsp;&nbsp; I =
proceeded=20
to the railtracks, ready to cache in, and trash out. But, I realized =
that the=20
one trash bag I brought just wouldn't be enough to pickup all the =
wreckage lying=20
about. Time for some superfund cleanup funds to be put to work. <BR>I am =
sure=20
glad I brought the protection I did, because those gerbils were on a =
rampage.=20
What that funny gas did to them, I will be having nightmares for some =
time to=20
come.&nbsp; But, the worst was that guy walking about on the tracks, =
next to a=20
crater, mumbling. I think he needs a doctor, and not just for his open=20
wounds.<BR>With gasmask on, and full body suit, I kinda fit in with the =
various=20
"official looking" folks wandering about. They were saying things like =
"bomb=20
squad", "gun control", "nuke eh all". I slipped by, and using my trusty =
Garmin,=20
was able to zero in on the new coords in the poison ivy rather quickly. =
You=20
know, however, that the second spot on the multi needs some redoing. The =
rain=20
was washing the blood away, and I could hardly read the coords.<BR>I =
took the=20
rattlesnake skin (the fangs were torn off - poor thing), and left my =
signature=20
item - a string of fireworks. <BR>Thanks for the fun cache. Now, only =
some 2500=20
miles from home, can I just go straight nw from here?<BR><BR>Visit this =

Date: 4/1/2004<BR>This cache is a big joke. Don't do it, I'm going to =

What a rip!<BR><BR>I got up early this morning and sat down with my =
Wheaties at=20
the PC to catch up on the nefga.com forums. What's this new message on =
the=20
forum? CacheFlorida.com is back in service? Whoa, I can find this new =
cache and=20
see the grand old site in all its glory? Where do I sign up? =
<BR><BR>Don't get=20
me wrong - I'm not a cache addict, I can stop at any time. I can. =
Really, I can.=20
I could stop tomorrow if I wanted to ... I just don't want to. I will =
admit,=20
though: I miss CacheFlorida - especially the stats. Just when I was =
about to=20
close in on Clan_Barron and 2LuknF8 (you know they've been faking logs - =
there's=20
no way they can stay ahead of this caching machine without faking logs - =
it's=20
not fair, there should be a law or something!) the site went away. Whoa, =
baby,=20
major withdrawal! Now I have to sit up late at night figuring out how =
many=20
points I have and whether I've moved up in the standings BY HAND. =
<BR><BR>So=20
when I see this cache come active, you know I'm going. I figured maybe =
they had=20
a laptop with a wireless connection or something rigged so cacher could =
check=20
the CF site again - I mean, what a great idea for a cache! So I threw =
the kids=20
in the trunk and we headed for Deltona at once - school? we don't need =
no=20
stinkin' school today! We gotta get to CacheFlorida! <BR><BR>The area of =
the=20
cache was easy to find - there was wreckage everywhere, yellow tape, =
huge=20
craters in the ground, red lights everywhere. A SWAT team was holding a =
couple=20
of huge gerbils at bay with anti-tank missles. No sweat, I've done =
harder caches=20
than this. Slunk past the cops, around the crater, down in the ditch by =
the=20
tracks - ah, is that the dull gleam of an ammo can? Eureka! I grab that =
puppy=20
and pop it open - what? No CacheFlorida? Only a lousy TB and a =
blood-stained=20
log. I wanted to throw it to the ground and smash it to bits - what a =
waste of=20
time - but my cache training held and I stabbed my name onto the log and =
rehid=20
the cache. <BR><BR>You wait, though, Mr CacheMonkeez. No more hiding =
