The fire IS due to a plane crash, with 2 confirmed fatalities. DPS =
Ranger has been transporting rescue personnel back and forth on the =
mountaintop, with MCSO Fox Helicopter providing additional air support. =
The recovery effort will not begin until daybreak, as they had to use =
night vision and a second helicopter even to land on a pitch black =
mountaintop.
The media is already speculating about a connection between this crash =
and The Phoenix Open. Perhaps in the next 24 hours, we will know more =
about the crash and its victims.
I do feel for the victims and their families. They probably had no idea =
anything was going to happen due to the darkness.
