A fundamental question here:
Jerry, when you say "It seems all National Forest caches will soon be
removed," is that a statement based on something someone in an official
capacity told you, or is it your conclusion from Joe's message?
It seems like a perfectly valid conclusion to draw, based on what we're
hearing from the Tonto NF folks, but a conclusion and a statement of
authority are two different things.

It seems all National Forest caches will soon be removed.
I'll admit I wasn't at all upset about removing caches in wilderness but
feared it would be expanded to all forest service land. When you think about
the damage other types of recreational and economic uses are doing, caching
seems extremely low impact by comparison. So cows are OK, but not caches?
...sigh.
Steve, does this mean the Feb. 2 event is cancelled?
