I emailed her since I am in the West Valley. Hopefully I can get off work...

I am President of Western Heritage Trail Association, the "green
route" that begins in Surprise and ends at the Grand Canyon. Our
Assocition is hosting its annual meeting on Friday, March 27 from
1-4PM at Hampton Inn & Suite in Surprise. I would like to invite a
member of your group to speak to us about "geocaching" and the many
opportunties it has to increase tourism along the Western Trail.
Please let me know the best time to reach you to discuss this
opportunity. Thanks.

We're relatively new to the geocaching scene (started last August) and I was hoping someone could help me with a question. I've noticed that the Tucson cache "A Udall Micro" (GC1AQTA) has been disabled since December 10th due to a missing cap and an overflowing log. Cachers are still finding it and attempting to add their signatures despite the flag and since it's so close to home, I thought we would adopt it and install a new container/log. I'll email the cache owner directly, but I was wondering what the procedure was for adopting an apparently abandoned cache. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and happy caching!

There are no more forced adoptions. Groundspeak doesn't own the container,
so they have no authority to give it to you. If the cache owner doesn't give
it to you, then you need to wait until it gets archived. You can place
another cache in the same spot. If you happen to find useable cache
materials in the place you put your cache, then that's between you and the
person that left it there.

This sounds like a great opportunity to spread the word about geocaching and help the Western Trail. It will also help avoid anyone placing anything in the national park. Unfortunately, my schedule is booked for that time. Anyone else?
