>From Yahoo!:
Garmin - released the Astro Dog Tracking System (pictured). Designed first
for hunters, this handheld GPS unit combined with a dog collar that has a
5-inch antenna allows dog owners to track their dogs' whereabouts and what
they're doing while there: sitting, barking up a tree...you get the idea.
True, it's for hunters, but I can see some serious dog lovers who worry
about their furry ones' safety putting this thing on when they're outside,
even if they have invisible fences. It's expected to be available in June
2007 and it will sell for about $649.

Now this is cool!

It transmits position updates every 5 seconds on a VHF frequency. Could this
mean that Garmin will make the Rino units available in VHF frequencies on
the next model update? I hope so! The Astro 220 appears to have a better
antenna on it than the Rino 530/520 as well. I still would like to see an
external antenna adapter available on the next Rino Garmin puts out.
The Astro 220 looks to be available in June of 2007. Another very cool and
innovative GPS/radio integration by Garmin!
