[Az-Geocaching] need an opinion

Is 1000' of elevation gain in a 0.23 mile hike sound doable?

I created a route on mapsource (a straight line as it is) and then went to
the profile of the route and it shows a very steady ascent. But no 'steps'
or cliffs. Doesnt mean there aren't any though... or does it? hhhmmm
