The Artful Dodger has several interesting caches. I have a travel bug whose
goal has been to get to one of his caches in New York for almost three years
now (unfortunately the bug always ends up back on the west coast). Check it
out: New York International Travel Bug Hotel & Casino (GCA56B).

You're right, Rand, Dodger has done some very clever work. Pity he's no
longer active.

I grew up just over (under?) the state line from where that cache is
located. We used to "go upstate" all the time in my late adolescence. In
those days, the drinking age in New York State was only 18. And at Scotty's
Bar in Nanuet, on Route 59 just east of where that cache is, the minimum
drinking age was apparently superseded by their minimum drinking height,
which was about four-foot-three.

Of course, darn near every high school graduating class in the county
probably lost one or two kids a year because they'd wrap their cars around
telephone poles and the like returning from a run upstate.
