That was on June 26, 1990. PHX hit 122 degrees. Actually, the official high
temperature in Bullhead City that day was also 122 degrees. (Yuma was 122
and Needles was 117).

I remember that day well.... I was out riding my road bike on an 80 mile
bike ride from my home in Mesa... thru AJ... Florence Junction... Arizona
Farms... Queen Creek and back home to Mesa...... in the middle of the
afternoon! :) :) :) I was a diehard. :) :) :) I used to train regularly on
hot summer afternoons. When I got off of work, I would go ride my bike.
Temperature never seemed to stop me and it didnt make a difference if it
was 105 or 122... doesnt feel much different really! Hot is hot!!! I am not
that crazy these days, but still occasionally find myself out on a long hike
for a geocache on a 105 degree afternoon! :/
