Subject: Re: [Az-Geocaching] GPS Sick?
If anyone out there has a Garmin 60cs and would like to meet me somewhere to test it against my new Magellan Explorist 600 I would LOVE to get together. I have never used a Garmin and would love to see how they stack up. Magellan claims this is a comparable unit. They were just released this month.... but if the Garmin is better I would consider buying it as well.... can never have too many GPS's.

In a previous life was a Navy Communications Technician (lot of
experience with electromagnetic stuff). I have used and owned two
different Garmins and two different Magellans. The Garmins were
superior in so far as bells and whistles are concern and were unbeatable
in the open desert but were not too hot at higher altitudes because
glitches were introduced into math calculations as altitudes increased.
My first Garmin was an E-Map, the last one was a 76CS. Garmin's topo
map software is better, but harder to use and set up.

After owning a Garmin GPS one and II then to a Magellan Sport Track Topo and Platinum, the Garmin 60cs is amazing! Wouldn't trade it for anything else on the market right now.Very dependable and accurate and a great Geocaching tool just made for this sport.
