RAND HARDIN WROTE:
Finally after all these years the truth comes out! RTW has always denied that he's into geocaching for the numbers...until today! He said, "I reached my goal in geocaching of getting to #1. Been there. Done that...."
And now we see a sinister side of Scott when he stated, "I actually thought about having another team name/user ID to hide this cache under. Then I could just sit and laugh at all the no finds, arrests, parking violations, tow aways, etc...."
Hmmmm? Is the "Been There. Done That" that Gale observed a Freudian slip by Scott? Could Scott be the mysterious "BeenThere_DoneThat" that found 103 caches on April 1, 2004, and broke the Arizona record for the most caches found in one day, and has not been heard from since? See BeenThere_DoneThat profile at:

Now I'm starting to rethink my suspicions of the identity of "Captain Mad Morty McVane," whose username was "Cache_Pirate"! For those of you who are new to this site, Morty was a cache pirate who looted several caches of the contents on May 3, 2003. He intended to bag-n-tag the contents and move the loot to other caches for the owners to retrievebut he never followed through to my knowledge. He was quickly banned from the Geocaching site for his activities. See the profile at:

For the legend of "Mad Morty," visit the event cache page of "Halloween Radioactive" at:

C'mon Scott, it's time to come clean! It's time to admit that you're the mysterious "BeenThere_DoneThat," and the infamous "Cache_Pirate"!
;-) :-D

SCOTT (RTW) RESPONDED AND TIPPED HIS HAND!?:
....I had a couple of really good (read: MEAN) ideas for an urban cache. An idea that would incorporate every BS urban micro cache I ever did! *evil grin*. I actually thought about having another team name/user ID to hide this cache under. Then I could just sit and laugh at all the no finds, arrests, parking violations, tow aways, etc....

STEVEN STRINGHAM ADDED:
Gale,
Are you saying that RTW would put together a false ID just to capture
another #1 stat? And, then keep quiet in his triumph? Impossible!
We know that the numbers don't matter to him!

Ooh
The Art Bell phenomenon is alive/well on the listserv this week! :P Good job noticing that.

SCOTT (RTW) WROTE:
....The latter, of course! ;) Seriously, a year ago... I would say that would have been the case. Nowadays, I dont care. I just cache for fun and I dont care about the numbers anymore. Anyone who knows me knows that I dont care about the numbers anymore. Just look at my ranking...from #1 down to #4 and I have no plans to attempt a comeback anytime soon! I am just doing it for the fun and enjoyment of it. I reached my goal in geocaching of getting to #1. Been there. Done that....
