the team thing has many definitions but for short it means group
Delorme Rules
A hand held would make some hiking caches easier...
I guess my answer to Are there team-oriented events? would be the EVENT CACHES
welcome to our ranks

I can only answer for myself, but we are '& crew' not 'team' It only means that we cache as a family as much as possible.
Some people have multiple adults on the 'team' and each go thre seperate ways when they cache. This allows them to find more caches in a day.
We have only been caching since October of '03, and I can say we have not missed anything 'team oriented' because we dont know of anything that requires a team.
Welcome to the hobby. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Hi all ...
Fairly new to the geocaching hobby, however I've already located four caches and have ordered a few travel bugs of my own to start planting around the greater Phoenix area. :)
The equipment I'm using is a Toshiba laptop with a GPS receiver, a wifi card, and DeLorme Maps. Maybe someday I'll purchase a handheld GPS receiver and make life a little easier.
I've noticed there are quite a few teams operating, and wonder what the benefit of operating within a team might be. Are there team-oriented events?
Aside from that, any tips and advice which you might offer would be awesome.
Thanks!
