Subject: Re: [Az-Geocaching] Gas prices
You made an incorrect assumption. The pipeline doesn't continue on from Phoenix to Kingman. They get heir gas from different refineries.

I know the anti-war crowd thought the Iraq war was about oil. As you can see, it wasn't.

Now, here in Willcox our gas goes by us in the pipeline and then has to be trucked back from Tucson. As a result, we see higher prices than Tucson. Since I have two vehicles that get 12 to 14 MPG and two that get 22 MPG or so (not to mention the motorhome at about 6 to 8 MPG) I buy quite a bit of gas. I also drive 25,000 miles a year for business, so I don't really notice the additional for recreation. Fact is, gas is cheap in the US. In Europe they pay about the same per liter than we do per gallon.

You guys in Phoenix are lucky. many of you have dozens of caches within a relatively short drive. Here, the closest is 30 miles or so, and most are much farther.

Kingman is a couple hours north of Phoenix, and they have traditionally been 20 to 30 cents cheaper than us, all the time, so I can't understand the "pipeline distance" theory.

.and just where is the Iraqi oil? Where was the Kuwaiti oil they promised us, when we saved them the first time, back in 90?
