I've figured out the problem. It happens only when I send mail via Cox webmail, not my home e-mail. If that isn't a good enough explanation, feel free to revert back to my senility conspiracy.

Today I got seven messages from Brian when I downloaded my
email (BTW, I use Outlook 2002 under XP Pro). Five of the messages had the
literal “Brian Casteel” in the “From” header. None of
them had attachments. Two of them had only your email address in the “From”
header – and one of those two was delivered as an attachment.
