Scott,

Remember when I first got my Vista, and I had to come over to upload the firmware because I had the same problem? It's your data cable. One of the wires inside probably broke free from the contact, rendering it inoperable. There is a eBay user I have purchased from in the past, and her eBay store is full of nifty after-market Garmin products. One of which is a PC data cable, which can be had for as little as $6.95+($4 or so for shipping). Not a bad deal, and mine is about as well built as they come.

Check out these links. If you do any eBay at all, you could score one of these and have it shipped to you in Seattle.

P.S. My master plan has worked!!! With you out of the scene for a few months, I can finally proceed with my furious attack on the azgeocaching scene. What's 380 caches by October? :D
