You left out "all of the above". That gets my vote.

My favorites tend to fall into either of two categories. First is a
cache where either the route or the destination is itself worth
discovering (scenic beauty, interesting art, historical, unusual, or
noteworthy in some way). The other is a cache where the fun is in
figuring out how to get to it. That could be some kind of quiz or
puzzle, or it could be something about the way the cache is hidden
(camouflage, where it's been placed) that is clever or original.
