It is not lawful to place anything in a Wilderness Area regardless of the agency which administers the wilderness area. This also includes those areas with Primitive Area status as in the Blue Primitive area on the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest. For info on the boundaries of these areas, contact the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest and get a map from them. They will let you know the boundaries. The 1964 Wilderness Act precludes this placement of things in the wilderness areas. Also, for as long as I have been going to wilderness areas, it has always been the etiquette to take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but tracks.
