I recently placed a cache using a ziplock container
that is about 5"x5"x2" deep but I wouldn't recommend
it for an area with animals. It was big enough for a
full sized pencil and pad though. Another option is
some of the small rubbermaid or tupperware containers
I've seen at Wally World. The small drink containers
seem to be about the size of a pint can except they
are see through and have a screw top. You would just
need to glue the straw closed and use a small pencil.
