Well, I can answer for the whole FroBro collective, but then the others need
to explain their own individual handles themselves.
The FroBros began as a group of rabid Arizona Rattlers fans. The Rattlers
are the Arena Football team here in Phoenix. We started getting season
tickets and going to all the games, 'cause it was a fun thing to do. If
you've ever been to an arena football game, you know that it's more than
just a sporting event. It's a huge party with a football game going on in
the background. In order to spice it up for our group, we decided to dress
up as Arabian shieks. That lasted for a couple games until NetBro and I were
passing a wig shop on the way to our car from a game. We saw the afros in
the window and immediately knew what had to be done.
Since that day, we often frequented many thrift stores and specialty shops
in our quest to acquire the most groovy wardrobes of the disco era. We also
built a funky website (although it later died a painful death). We've had
season tickets to the Rattlers games, ever since. The organization enjoyed
our presence, and they allowed us to dance with the cheerleaders during
halftime on two occasions. They even created a "Fro-meter" for the
scoreboard which acts as a noise-meter where the fro gets bigger as the
crowd gets louder. If D-Dubs answers this e-mail, I hope he explains the
"Head Fan."
Okay, I guess that was the long version of the story. There are five of us.
My name is Q-Tip, because my fro is white. My eyes used to be white too, but
my colored contacts finally ripped.
I am going to start putting FroBro stickers in all the caches I find.
