You asked who would they really be cheating. I would think that they
would be cheating all of the people who actually did make the effort to
go out there. Someone who cheats on getting credit for a cache is not
going to have the moral understanding that they are cheating themselves
or they wouldn't be doing it in the first place.

I don't think Larry was saying that the cache was a bad idea, nor was he
making a personal attack on the placer of the cache (at least that's
what I see), but he was just saying that the confirmation means needed
to be updated to prevent cheating.

Why should there have to be requirements? If you don't actually find
and visit the statue then who exactly are you cheating? I just got back
from finding the statue that is in Albuquerque and it was a little bit
of a challenge. The park the statue once stood in is gone only to be
replaced by a government building. I do admit that the password
protected file should be a little harder but like I said before the only
person your cheating is yourself. These cache finds only matter to the
person finding them and the cache owner. Its not like they are highly
accurate either. Damn someone for trying to do something nice for
people he will never meet.....

Sorry if I offend anyone, but geocaching in Arizona has hit a new low. I
don't like the new virtual cache GC6FD5. It's a freebie without any
requirements. No requirement to visit the statue, no requirements to
Email the owner- there's no requirement to justify a "find" on this
statue. The "reward" is a certificate that is password protected.
However, the password is shown in the background picture and is in the
web link attached to the cache description. So what's the purpose of
this cache (if you can call it that)?
