Dang, I just made a large purchase at Best Buy last weekend (very
un-typical of me); I'd have bought the cards off of you.
Honestly, if it were me, I'd continue saving/selling what I
have/watching for deals until I could buy the 60CSx. I know I bought
mine off of Amazon and opened up a credit card with them to get a
percentage off (I think it was 20% at the time?). Maybe you can come up
with a deal like that somewhere? This is a considerable purchase that
will last you a very long time (note that I've had mine 2-3 years and
it's still one of the units of choice; for a tech item, I think that's
pretty good). In the past I've settled for something that wasn't what I
really wanted so I could have it now, and while at the time it's
exciting, I've *always* regretted it.
I *do* agree with Steven that the eTrex Vista is a suitable alternative,
if you can find one. That's what my Dad has (he's the one that got me
into caching). We have cached together, side by side, several times and
had comparable experiences. I believe his won't hold as many maps or
waypoints, but it is still more than adequate. Looks like the Vista HCx
is selling on Amazon right now for $198

which is what the Lowrance would cost you *with* your gift cards at Best
Buy anyway. I think I'd either do that if I just couldn't wait (you may
be able to find a better deal; I didn't search very hard), or wait and
get the 60CSx.
Good luck...I know how agonizing these kinds of purchases can be,
especially when you are limited in funds. Huge difference between
deciding if something is *worth* the extra $$$ vs. flat out not having
the option of spending the extra $$$.
