 It does mention part of this is now private property.

I know Ruby is also off of a County Road but it was purchased and is now
private property with a fee of $12 per person (not carload) to enter.

LEGAL INFO: T24S, R16E
CLIMATE: Mild winter, Hot summer
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Winter, fall, spring
COMMENTS: The public is not really welcome here say the owners and current
residents. Video available, see below. Take SR 82 to Patagonia and
thereafter drive 20 miles south of Patagonia. Road is paved the first 6
miles and after that is dirt road FR 49. The town is little more then 4
miles south of Mowry.
REMAINS: Many original buildings, mining equipment and the like.

 According to the Santa Cruz County Assessor's office (  (520) 375-8030 ),
this is now private property as part of a new subdivision.

Long and short, I would find another place to take friends...
