[Az-Geocaching] PDA recommendations

Well, my laptops have it, and I see the value there. I still can't imagine what I'd do with it if my PDA had it. Faster hotsync?

Does that really need an explanation? :)

I'm curious as to what you need the wi-fi for?

How about the Axim X50 or X51 (not the v)? Brand new on eBay for $76 w/ $29
shipping, but I would also need to buy the wifi card (another $70). Still
for 192MB of total memory and a rockin' fast processor, that still isn't
bad. On the flipside, I don't want something protruding from the top like
that (CF wifi card) that would snap off.

Brian,

I am using a Compaq iPAQ and I think they are available at a reasonable
cost. I love it and like the idea that it takes my SD memory cards where I
have cache data saved.

Yesterday after dinner, the clan and I hopped into the car and went out for
some Easter caching. No sooner than I pull up to the first cache area and
turn on my PDA to read the cache page, it blips out and doesn't turn on
again. Playing with it at home let me hear the painful electronic screams
coming from within, telling me that my trusty Palm IIIxe had gone to the
hotsync in the sky. That said, I need a new PDA to continue my paperless
caching adventures.

Scott - I don't need the grossly expensive Axim with the 624MHz processor
for caching, so you just keep your fingers off the keyboard. :-)

Anyone else with thoughts in the ~$250 and below range would be much
appreciated. I was looking at the iPaq rx1955 or possibly the PalmTX.
