[Az-Geocaching] FW: Arizona Geocoin (it's finally here!!!)

Ok Brian, now my brain is kicking into gear. I remember wonderful hikes in the mountains. One afternoon I noticed three or four deer standing frozen. They were just looking at me. I didn't think much of it because they always see you before you see them. I kept walking toward them and suddenly 'something' rose out of the grass (which was only about 2 ft tall) and walked away from the deer and myself. Took a few quick seconds to process but it was a mountain lion. Gee...they're not just on cartoons or Disney! ha! Anyway, I was happy it decided it wasn't interested in me but was sure glad to experience seeing it. So thinking about the Bighorn Sheep brought that memory to the front.

I'm thinking a combination of things. Perhaps Granite Peak, Bighorn Sheep, Bald Eagle, bison, Lewis & Clark trail across MT...if I can get what is inside my head into Photoshop, I think it will be outstanding as a foundation at the very least.

There are so many beautiful places it would be hard to decide what to put on a coin! There is the Bison Range, Glacier Nat'l Park, Lewis & Clark Caverns, Virginia City, the Bitteroot, all the many rivers, hunting, fishing, mountains, pines, and on and on. Tough to choose.

It was too long in coming, and a number of factors contributed to the delay, which I sincerely apologize for. The images won’t come close to proper justice, because the 3D/recessing of images just isn’t visible in a 2D image. I am looking very forward to getting some to physically look at and admire.

Within the next week or so, I’m going to start on a MT coin with another cacher out of Helena, and oddly enough I think it is going to be much less time consuming than this one turned out to be.

We are proud to finally present the pre-orders for the Arizona Geocoin. The coin order has gone to the mint and we are opening the orders to Arizona cachers first. Once we get the orders from you, we will forward them to The Caching Place so that Arizona orders have priority. Once they get the order, they will send you a bill through paypal.

To start out, we are limiting the orders of the Limited Edition (Silver) coins to two per household. After 72 hours (three days), we will re-evaluate this situation.

Please feel free to order as many of the Copper edition as you like. Personally, we'd like to see as many coins as possible go to Arizona cachers before opening it up to the general caching public.

Please use the following link.Place your orders via the link below.
