Wow, an Eagle scout and an AZGFD employee. What a team!! Thanks for
the info. I've heard great things about Sandy. We've contacted her a
few times and will continue to try. We'll give the other contacts a try
as well. I have three life scout sons. The other two are finishing up
their last couple of merit badges. Their are also a couple of other
scouts in the troop that are almost ready for projects. The more
contacts I can establish for them the better. Thanks again.

I called Mary (Budcam & Mary),who works at Game and Fish, and asked her
if they ever help with Eagle projects and she said they do. There are
many projects that are done using volunters. Here is a couple of #'s to
call.
Adobe Mountain Animal Rehab:
623-582-9806
contact: Sandy Cate ( she is the ONLY paid employee there so she is busy
so you need to be persistant to get in touch with her) this whole
facility is run by Sandy and Vvolunteers, so there may be a number of
habitat projects to build/maintain etc. plus they have alot of animals
to look at.

Developement :
602-789-3485
contact: Beverly Bell
Beverly will be able to direct you to an area in AZGFD where projects
are needed. Just explain to her what you want to do (volunterr you and
you troop for a project).

Region 6 (area including Phoenix and surronding areas) office:
480-981-9400
contact: unknown, the phine has one of those automated thingies, just
press "0" till you talk to a human being then explain your needs.

Good luck! I hope you find a fun and enjoyable project that be around
for many years.

Working on an Eagle project is a great experience. Our troop will be at

a district camporee that weekend, but I'll see if I can round up a coupe

of scouts that aren't going. Maybe I can finally give you that disk I

have with Dutch Oven recipes. It's been in my truck since we last

talked, but I haven't been doing much caching lately. Too busy with

scouts.

As long as we're on this off-topic topic, one of my sons is in search of

an Eagle Scout project. He has been making a lot of phone calls but

hasn't come up with anything yet. If anyone knows of a non-profit,

civic, religious, community, or government organization that is in need

of any sort of assistance with a building, fixing, maintenance project,

I would really appreciate hearing about it.

Bill Tomlinson
