Actually, if you have been following this thread, you know that you can get
128 in a square mile, arranged in triangles.  In fact, your circles actually
work out to triangles if you connect the centers.

I can get 120 caches in a square mile.  

A honeycomb pattern is more efficient than a
rectangular
pattern.
