You would hate my class. People have short attention spans, so I tell my
students to have SOMETHING happen on the screen every 6 to 10 seconds. It
can be a new slide or something happening on the current slide.

I do presentations from time to time, and aim for roughly one slide per
minute on average. Also I force myself to talk slower than normal.

Don't be too concerned, unless you are a frequent public speaker. I have
been having students do in-class presentations for 25 years or so now, and
one thing I have learned is that people talk faster when they are nervous.
My students may prepare a nice, 10 minute Powerpoint talk, and then, in
front of the class, they run through it in 7 minutes. Just try to be really
nervous, and the time should be fine.
