My ETrex Venture (green) unit was also having troubles. The glue issues,
the display was acting up, and the joystick wasn't always working. It was
still under warrenty, and they gave me an RMA right away. They replaced
the unit, and transfered my tracks and waypoints.  Total cost - 4$ for
shipping (USPOST).

Yes, I am definately a fan of Garmin.
