For those that want to know about the Steward Observatory on top of Mt =
Lemmon.
I got a first hand report of conditions up above the Ski Lodge (still =
standing). The U of A
observatory is untouched _at _this _time.... fire is creeping around =
from the west.
The communication towers near and right next to the observatory grounds =
also remain untouched. The land surrounding this area is quite clear of =
trees. There is no scrub vegetation near any of those buildings. =
Hopefully, the fire will not get close enough to do any damage to any of =
the structures.=20
=20
I was personally up there Tuesday (the day the fire started) all day and =
can tell you that area is pretty clean. The report I stated above was =
gotten this morning from a trip to the communication site by a co-worker =
of mine.
It is still a major travesty ---- =20
