I agree with Mike - and as he mentioned in that same note about him remov=
ing the food that he comes across - I too remove any food or seasoning pr=
oducts that I come across.
Not only should we be concerned about food - but we also need to be conce=
rned about items such as crayons, candles, soaps, lotions, perfumes or an=
y other liquid product whether it's in a tube or a bottle. Last summer I=
found a couple caches where crayons and candles had melted over the cach=
e items. I can remember another cache where a tube of sunscreen had spli=
t open and made quite a mess! I cleaned those particular caches and remo=
ved anything that was damaged. So far I haven't gone to the extreme of r=
emoving everything I disagree with - but I do remove (and I would hope an=
y member of this listserv would also remove) anything that is evidently a=
current or foreseeable problem.

Although disappointed with this whole situation it reminds me of somethin=
g that's been making me crazy (a little off subject, but I'll keep it sho=
rt). People need to stop putting food in their caches! . . . . =20

. . . . Even if leaving food didn't attract animals, do you actually beli=
eve: A) a fellow geocacher is going to eat opened/unopened food that was=
left by a stranger for an unknown amount of time or B) A candy bar will =
last very long in a closed container in the middle of the desert?
