Yeah, Gordon, it seems that supplying the needed items to some may be
necessary!! This is not directed just at Scott, nor is it a personal
attack on his numbers, and I will only comment briefly on this issue,
because it relates to the recent Charter Member issue (my check is in
the mail...) and support of the hobby. And it has been talked about
alot before.

Suffice to say that (personally) maybe if I spent less MONEY and TIME
on hiding caches for people to find (and thereby supporting geocaching
in yet another, more operational way) I may have more time to find 500
caches. (well, OK, maybe 150)

My personal opinion is that a ratio of something around 1/20 (less if
you get into higher find numbers, for practical reasons) seems about
right to keep the sport fresh and going. 5 hides for 100 finds is not
unreasonable, nor is it difficult. This is just my impression, I am
sure there are many other opinions. However, the obvious fact is (and
I repeat myself and others), if nobody hid any caches, there would be
none to find.

So, put the excuses in the closet and get out and hide a couple new
ones, if you are in that "bad cache karma" category! Make it a New
Year's Resolution! :-)
