Hey Dan,
It's been at least a decade since we took the Schnebly Hill road from
Sedona to I-17. As I recall, it's closed in winter. We used an Isuzu
Trooper for the trip which has good ground clearance and 4WD, but we did not
use 4WD. I don't remember the details of the road all that well, but I'm
sure the road wasn't in awful condition, passable, for sure with just the
good clearance of the old Trooper, and I'm sure I saw some regular cars on
the road too. So to summarize my fuzzy memory of the road, 4WD is not
needed, good ground clearance is a definite advantage, but I think regular
cars can probably make the trip, though I don't remember for sure.

Jim.
