Hello, My name is Michael and I have also been into a few mine shafts.....
The common sense part of it is a person knowing their own abilities and
having the propper gear to do what you want to do.

I can't say that I am one for staying out of mine shafts but there a right
and a wrong way to explore them... when you have the right gear and a good
idea of how the mine is laid out they can be a place of wonder... I was in
one last weekend that we repelled in to...about 20 feet over the side there
was a little cove like spot that had the must beautiful owl sitting on a
nest... She was not as please to see us as we were to see her... all though
we did not get to explore the hole mine there were 3 tunnel of the shaft we
went down that had some excellent color under the black lights... thought
about leaving a cache but did not thing the owl would enjoy the company....

common sense. Don't get me wrong I feel sorry

sons, so they don't pull that kind of stuff.
