[Az-Geocaching] Death of Geocaching

Cheryl and I just got back from our 2nd scuba diving class.  Loran, your
going to need to be certified to find a couple of the caches we have
planned.  That is here in Arizona within 100 miles.  I do believe theres one
in Lake Powell that requires scuba also.  To me, its not much fun if you can
walk or drive right up to the cache. :-)  The memorable caches to me are the
ones that are multi-caches, required multiple visits, research, and alot of
thinking.  As far as caching on the west-side, my wife will let me go
caching whenever I want however I am short on gas money.

I still enjoy caching a lot. I did find 4 today but the two that gave me
problems where multis with coords and to many places to hide.  When a cache
is hidden with coords one should be within reason able to find the cache at
the coords.  I Know that not all GPSs are equal so when a small item is hid
there should not be 100+ places to look.  Another problem is one of the
caches I did find was in a live electrical box. At one I didn't find the
likely locations included closed power panels and water boxes. I believe
care must be taken in placing urban caches as to avoid having cacher opening
electrical panels and other item belonging to private citizens and cities.
All caches should be reachable without violating someone's property. As of
lately that has not been the case.

I know I'm rambling but after being away for 2 days I was looking forward to
a fun day of caching. Of course that didn't happen today. I've got to learn
to walk away from the caches that are just not worth it but with my
obsession that isn't easy.  But today may of helped on my road to recovery.

If you ever get bored staying at home we could get together during the week
for some caches to the west. See I'm not cured yet. That is if the wife will
let you go out.
