Connie and I have always wanted to spend a few days on Lake Powell in a
Houseboat. I counted 7 caches on the lake, but haven't researched how
accessible they are. Regardless, we thought it would be fun to spend some
time exploring the lake. Of course, it's more fun to share the experience
with others, as well as it keeps the cost down. Is anyone interested in
joining us this Fall exploring Lake Powell and cache hunting?
No firm plans have yet been made, but we're suggesting the following:
Go in late September. We would like to travel and arrive on 9/23, be on the
lake 4 days, and travel home 9/28.
Rent a 59' luxury houseboat that sleeps 8 adults in 4 double permanent beds
(no couch or table bed).
Rent a 19' powerboat that sits 8 adults. A tag along for exploring the lake.
Split the costs of boats, groceries, fuel, and other common items (ski's?,
water tube?) for the 4 days on the lake.
Each couple could make their own arrangements for the night before and after
(camp or hotel).
We would prefer to spend the week with Adults only.
Of course, this is all preliminary now. I'm sure we'll need to be flexible.
Based on the above preferences, the cost for the houseboat and powerboat
would be about $670 per person for the 4 days on the lake (groceries and
other stuff extra).
Let me know if you're interested. We'll need to make a reservation and
deposit real soon. The deposit will be around $100 per person.
First come, first served. Hope you can join us!
