Hi all,
Was wondering if you saw the big search for those 2 boys up by Flag. It was
on all the news channels. They were found alive and well after 3 days and 2
very frigid nights, which is a miracle....prayers were answered. They had no
provisions and only light clothing. I was part of the team of searchers
working to find them, this time in the command vehicle running the radio and
radio log all night (6p to 6a) Sun/Mon. (On big searches like this, we
usually run 12 hour shifts) The rest of our Posse also was up there along
with ground searchers, horses, ATV's, search dogs and 4x4's from 6 counties,
plus helos and even US customs Blackhawk (we needed the FLIR..infra red).
It was interesting to be in the command vehicle and have various groups
reporting back their positions (and positions of tracks found) in Lat/Long,
UTM, and even township.range.section, and quite a challenge to plot
positions on the maps.
Geocaching is sure fun, but thank God we have this technology to assist in
this type of life and death situation.....
