There are a couple things you could do:  do some maintenance on the cache (put in a new log sheet) and log that with a note or you could put a "Needs Maintenance" note or "Needs Archived" log with an explanation why it should be archived.  The reviewers might then decide to archive it.

I guess I'll just wait to see if it ever gets archived (apparently the owners haven't been to geocaching.com since September of '08). I have no interest in appropriating their caching materials, so if it does get archived, I'll just add my own cache and push the damaged one slightly out of the way (and email the owners (again) regarding the new placement).
