Not to nitpick, or disagree...but:

format on a PC (great for PQ updates)
I see how this could be handy, but I think I'd

Magellan SD File, MS Pocket Streets, PocketMap Navigator and KML (works
great with Google Maps for Mobile!)

I have two Palm units capable of voice notes, not
sure how that would integrate with CacheMate.
-Integrated TB database that allows you to retrieve, discover and drop
trackables directly from the cache record, with all data for the TB
filled in except for the tracking number
-TB actions entered automatically in cache log entry
-TB nag alert
Considering the likelihood that the TBs listed in
the cache will not be there when I go, or that I will pick up a TB not
even listed in the cache, I don't know if I'm really missing anything
here. I can enter details about what I dropped and/or picked up in my
notes for the cache.
-Found log counter
I can set a preference to move found caches to a
'found' category, and then query the number of records in that category.
-HTML logs/notes export
Export to Palm Memo Pad, viewable from the Palm
desktop application
-Support for Corrected Coords (great for puzzles/multi's)
Something I'd rather use GSAK for.
-GPS support with new center point acquisition, waypoint navigation and
gps status plugin
Supported in the Palm version...if you have a
cable to fit your handheld and your GPS. In reality, the Bluetooth
option is the only viable choice.
Bottom line: I don't think there is really such a huge difference.

Probably left off others I can't think of off the top of my head, but
this gives you a good idea. My only real gripe with the current
version is that it's not very finger-friendly. It's better than it
used to be, thanks to the author making improvements based on our
requests in the forums for better D-pad support, but the WM5 soft keys
are missing as are options for larger buttons, etc.

I've
used CM on both Palm and WM devices and the WM version has quite a few
features missing in the Palm version.
"Implement of mass distraction", I like that, LOL! BTW, you don't need
an iPhone to have a lightsaber app, my Touch Pro has a built-in
accelerometer that works great with several WM lightsaber apps; my son
loves playing with it, though I'm always afraid it's going to go flying
across the room one of these times!

I use Cachemate on WInMo 6.1 with touchscreen and it works rather well.
I never used it on a Palm based device before though so I can't compare.
My implement of mass distraction is a Samsung Epix on AT&T. It's
seriously the best phone I've ever owned. The only thing its missing is
multi-touch...and unlike all the iPhone lemmings, I have cut and paste.
:-) So I can deal without having multi touch and a light saber app. :-P
