We had made the switch when the update came out. We use an ancient palm and have had no problems with cachemate to date. All of our DB's were intact.

I made the update without any data loss, only having to refresh a couple macros. 
However, a fellow cacher, told my that they lost the capability to download files to their PalmT/X.
I haven't yet confirmed this experience yet.
