Without knowing the caches, the locations or the containers I think anyone who jumps in with opinions on an unknown persons actions is most likely trying to stir a pot.

If they are in well used areas that are common for people to pull off and sit around in or trash while the kids play and pee etc then it is very possible they were stumbled on.

We have found more then one in the high country that is simply sitting under or on a dead piece of wood that is very inviting to use as fire starter.

.. I only ask that people keep the micros in the city parking lots and not in the woods. :)

I had a very similar experience. I placed 3 caches near a well maintained dirt road in Coconino National Forest here in Arizona. I put them in areas that i knew that people with kids or people who could not hike long distances could easily find. I saw this as doing a favor for people who could not do the difficult ones. After all Geocaching is supposed to be fun for everyone.

Well, the person who logged the ftf on all 3 left very negative comments about all 3 caches. Saying that they do not belong in the forest. Like he was the jugde as to what could be put there. The comments were not in the spirit of geocaching at all. Honestly, I believe the guy (at the time) was being a total jerk about it. I wrote to him telling him pretty buch what I just wrote and to lighten up. Its just a game and I was going to delete his logs. He redemed himself and i thank him for that. He apologized for his comments and edited all his logs. Story should be over right?? well 2 disappeared and I noticed it just before the snow storm. I have not been able to check on the 3rd. That is pretty much all I know so please tell me if you think this is a cooincidence. I will be checking on the 3rd as soon as it dries out a bit.
