I'm relieved to read some of the latest posts. I
have never been into numbers and thought for a long time that maybe I was
missing something. I have never understood the fascination with powercaching. I
like out of the way caches and I like multis. At times I like to do urban caches
but mostly for the stealth factor. I have been a member for 4 years and just
passed the 500 mark. I live in Idaho but travel to Arizona once or twice a year
to visit family near Wickenburg and Tucson. In fact I am a member of the
AZ-Geocaching loop just so I can keep up on what is going on down there for my
next trip. When there, I love to go caching, you people do a great job
placing caches. In fact my numbers usually take a big jump after a trip there
because that is what I do - I cache.
I think caching is what you make of it. I don't get
the numbers game - but if that is your gig then I say good luck. I much prefer a
day on the west side of the Tucson Mts (one of my favorite places to cache)
picking up 6 or 8 caches. In fact one of my favorite caches of all time is over
there. It's a multi, and I'm a geologist, so if you are familiar with that area
you can probably guess which one I am referring to.
I hope we all continue to enjoy and improve this
hobby and get out of it whatever makes us happy.
