Just an additional note:  A valid hunting or fishing license gives you the right to enter state trust lands for the purpose of hunting or fishing, but if you are engaging in other recreational activities, you need the permit mentioned below -- at least that's my understanding.

Since we’ve had some new folks here recently, let me mention why being able to identify State Trust Land is important. It’s important because if you’re on State Trust Land, even on foot, you need a permit. The permit is $15 a year for individuals, $20 for families.
